To Be Continued Meme on Picture
If someone has been in the loop of anime memes - or internet memes, as a whole - they might've come across JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's "to be continued" meme. Here's how it works: A picture or short clip pauses right when something terrible is about to happen, the phrase "to be continued" gets written in the bottom left corner. While the song "Roundabout" by Yes plays in the background.
Basically, this was the general style of episodes ending in the first and second season of JoJo. Since the majority of JoJo has already been turned into a meme, this was also bound to go viral. Fans have outdone themselves this time to create some hilarious "to be continued" memes.
10/10 Endings Are Bad
It's an ancient ritual in anime, TV shows, or any other entertainment medium to hook the audience with a cliffhanger. This way the viewer will be anxious to find out what happens next in the story. JoJo also employs this technique neatly by ending episodes in ridiculous or emotional moments.
The above meme is from the episode when Hol Horse messes up and ends up shoving his fingers up Polnareff's nostrils. What follows is even funnier, but fans have to wait for the next episode to find out.
9/10 To Be Continued
Other anime may follow the cliffhanger technique slightly, but Demon Slayer took it to a whole another level. Viewers are left at the edge of their seats at the end of every episode and were forced to let their imagination run wild for a whole week.
Whatever the case, JoJo is the anime that pulls off this technique in the best way. After all, the episodes end with a catchy rock song from the '70s. Thanks to that, the "to be continued" ending became a meme.
8/10 Goblin Slayer Is From JoJo
Goblin Slayer was a controversial show for its disturbing and dark content. It was not targeted towards children. It becomes clear after the 1st episode when goblins kill one person and assault another. This meme depicts Goblin Slayer as a slice of life, action/adventure show.
Goblin Slayer already has magic, Elves, and all the other fantasy stuff. As such, it would be not surprising to see the Goblin Slayer take off his helmet to reveal a JoJocharacter. The whole show would be turned into a JoJo reference.
7/10 Area 51 Raid Was A Jojo Reference
Area 51 raid, for those who don't know, was an event created on Facebook. It was planned that a crowd of people will show up outside Area 51 and they will all force their way in. Then they would free the aliens trapped there and bring them home.
It was all good in theory, but on the day of the raid, only a few people showed up. Thankfully, they did not do anything crazy and returned home. This meme is an actual depiction of a guy walking towards the gate. Things might have turned out differently if he was a stand-user.
6/10 Tire Tested To Its Limits
How much air a tire can hold? It's a question that has been asked since the day cars were invented. Testing the limits of a rubber tire has dire consequences, as it will explode in the end. Those present at the testing site will have to risk everything in order to reveal this secret of the universe.
This is one scenario that should be left discontinued. For general information, the air pressure in a tire is kept 35psi on average and it explodes at 200psi.
5/10 Lamp Approaching I
Every pixel of this picture is a meme. It contains not one or two but three memes. The first one is the dialogues written at the top and bottom. Second is the Pixar lamp walking towards "I." Finally, the third is the "to be continued" meme.
At the beginning of every Pixar movie, the studio's logo and a lamp appear on the screen. The lamp then jumps on Pixar's "I," crushing it and taking the letter's place
4/10 Prepare For Battle
Famous YouTubers engaging in combat is the gladiatorial form of a YouTube collaboration. It brings fanbases together as two popular internet celebrities engage in (usually good-natured) duels of words and art pieces.
For this encounter, the battleground is the Sky Block at dawn. This fanart has been able to capture the intensity of such a battle, while theJoJomeme is a welcome addition because the series makes everything better.
3/10 The Meme Song Is From JoJo?
One reason for JoJo's popularity is that it references different cultures, making the anime feel familiar and approachable. In Stardust Crusaders, Jotaro and his gang go on a world tour, exploring the most remote places and presenting the local culture to everyone. It tries to be enjoyable for all types of audiences.
JoJo has been turned into a meme so many times that newcomers are surprised to find some already famous material in it. It's the beauty of this series.
2/10 Jojo Is A Culture
JoJo,at the beginning of the anime's run, only had a cult following. Its strange character designs and weird comical moments went over the heads of many. However,JoJo gradually gained traction over the years as more people realized its brilliance. Today, it's loved by fans from all over the world.
Despite its popularity, many people still don't know that JoJois the source of so many internet memes, with "to be continued" being one of them. Therefore, those who dismiss anime but later enjoy their memes are a walking contradiction.
1/10 Pass The Aux
Tiktok and meme songs are a source to discover good, under-recognized music. "Roundabout" by Yes was an old-time classic, even if many people mainly know this song from the memes or JoJo's ending. Its upbeat tune and riveting lyrics are enjoyed by all kinds of music lovers.
Therefore, the next time someone hands over the aux to their socially active friend, they should be prepared for "Roundabout" to be played.
